Prior to acting:

I have in my ordinary working life been a headteacher, a fine art painter, a builder and decorator, gallery technician, civil servant, a book seller and have communicated with a broad range of different audiences, and have a broad personal social experience of the world including knowledge of issues around child protection, mental health and other aspects of social and economic disadvantage, religious cults and meditation and I believe this would help me in playing many types of role.

I have a very broad social and cultural experience having been brought up in a religious cult and having attended a bog standard comprehensive as well as hob nobbing with wealthy socialites. I attended art school in the eighties and experienced the punk and new wave scenes at first hand.

I came to acting through community drama at the London Bubble Theatre.
